How the Sigenergy SigenStor platform fits together

SigenStor can bring solar conversion, modular battery storage, energy control, monitoring, compatible backup hardware and selected EV charging options into one coordinated platform. The components included depend on the property and the system design accepted by the customer.

Energy controller

Manages solar conversion, battery operation and energy flow. Controller capacity and phase configuration are selected around the proposed solar array, battery output and network requirements.

Modular battery storage

Battery modules can be combined to provide different storage capacities. Useful sizing considers solar surplus, evening demand, overnight use, reserve settings and future loads.

Sigen Gateway

A compatible Gateway may be included where blackout operation is required. The supported circuits, available output and installation scope must be assessed before backup is promised.

mySigen monitoring

The app can display solar production, household consumption, battery charge and grid interaction. Monitoring accuracy also depends on correct metering and commissioning.

EV charging integration

Compatible EV charging can be considered alongside solar and battery operation. Charger type, vehicle compatibility, electrical capacity and expected charging schedule still need to be confirmed.

Capacity and configuration

Sigenergy battery sizes and design pathways

Battery capacity should be based on how much surplus solar is available, when the property uses electricity, the required overnight buffer and any backup reserve. Australis Solar does not recommend capacity from the Synergy bill total alone.

These are planning examples rather than guaranteed product packages. Current module capacity, total energy, usable energy, controller compatibility and maximum stack configuration must be confirmed in the proposal. A larger battery can provide more overnight buffer and reduce the depth of regular cycling, but it should still be practical to charge and use.

The battery size or controller rating is only one part of the design. Australis Solar reviews how the property generates, imports and uses electricity, along with the physical and compliance requirements of the installation.

A larger battery can provide more overnight buffer and reduce how deeply the battery cycles during normal use, but it should still be practical for the solar system to charge and use the available capacity.

Battery capacity describes how much energy can be stored. It does not by itself confirm the power available at one time, which circuits remain operating during an outage or whether an EV charger is compatible with the property, vehicle and wider electrical system.

Blackout operation

A battery does not automatically provide backup

A compatible Sigen Gateway and compliant backup design may allow selected circuits or a wider group of household loads to operate during a grid outage. The final scope depends on the controller output, battery state of charge, phase configuration, appliance demand and switchboard arrangement.

Compatible Sigenergy EV charging can be considered alongside the solar array, battery storage and backup design. Charger selection depends on the vehicle, phase supply, available electrical capacity, daily travel, charging schedule and the amount of surplus solar normally available.

What is Sigenergy and how does SigenStor work?

Sigenergy is an energy technology manufacturer, and SigenStor is its integrated solar and storage platform. A configured system can combine a solar energy controller, modular battery storage, energy management, monitoring, compatible backup equipment and selected EV charging options. Not every installation includes every component.

Can Sigenergy be added to an existing solar system?

It may be possible, but the correct design depends on the existing inverter, panels, array configuration, system age, phase arrangement, metering, switchboard and required battery function. Australis Solar assesses whether the existing equipment should be retained, replaced or incorporated through another compatible architecture.

What size Sigenergy battery should I choose?

Useful capacity is based on surplus solar generation, evening and overnight consumption, backup reserve, inverter output and future loads such as EV charging. Approximately 9 kWh, 18 kWh and 27 kWh configurations may suit different usage profiles, but the exact current module and usable capacity must be confirmed in the proposal.

Will a Sigenergy battery power my home during a blackout?

Not automatically. Blackout operation requires compatible backup equipment, including an appropriate Sigen Gateway configuration, plus compliant isolation and switchboard design. The circuits and appliances that can operate depend on available inverter power, battery charge, surge loads, phase arrangement and which loads run at the same time.

Can a Sigenergy system charge an electric vehicle?

Compatible EV charging can be incorporated into selected system designs. The appropriate charger and operating strategy depend on the vehicle, electrical supply, available solar, battery settings and normal charging schedule. Vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid functions depend on compatible vehicles, standards, approvals, software and product availability and should not be assumed.

Is Sigenergy eligible for the WA battery rebate?

Eligibility is not automatic and should be confirmed before accepting a proposal. It can depend on the customer, installation date, selected product, approved equipment list, installer requirements, available scheme capacity and current Virtual Power Plant or Battery Rewards conditions. Rebates and finance are not guaranteed until all applicable requirements are satisfied.

Has there been a Sigenergy product recall?

Yes. A voluntary recall announced in November 2025 applied to specified 8 kW, 10 kW and 12 kW single-phase Energy Controllers using the affected quick-connect AC plug. The approved replacement design uses an OT terminal-style connection. A current proposal should identify the exact model being supplied, while an affected legacy unit should be handled through the official recall process.
