Manning Solar Installation: 16.15 kW AIKO 475W panels, Sigenergy Battery system and EV Charger
For this Manning home we installed 16.15 kW of AIKO solar with a three phase Sigenergy SigenStor battery system and a 22 kW EV charger. The design delivers an estimated 22,627 kWh per year and a modelled 259 percent energy offset. The client’s Synergy bills were around $750 in summer and $300 in winter, so the system was engineered to slash daytime grid use and divert surplus into the battery and EV.
The brief and site preferences
The property had a 13 year old single phase inverter running on a three phase supply. The owners asked for no panels on the street-facing roof and noted pool heating on the south-west lower roof. Our brief was clear: lift self-consumption, preserve frontage aesthetics and integrate storage plus EV charging for a future-ready Perth solar setup.
System design and equipment
We supplied and installed 34 AIKO 475 W NeoStar 2P panels paired with a SigenStor EC 15.0 TP three phase energy controller. Storage is approximately 24 kWh using 3 x SigenStor BAT 8.0 modules, managed by a Sigen Power Sensor energy meter for precise import and export control. We also fitted a Sigen EV AC Charger 22 kW for fast on-site charging aligned to solar production and battery levels.

Roof layout and aesthetics
Panel placement avoided the front-facing roof at the owner’s request. Arrays were optimised across north and west roof faces to capture Perth’s afternoon sun, with stringing balanced for three phase operation. We planned clearances around the pool heating blanket on the lower south-west roof to prevent thermal conflicts and allow safe future servicing.
Storage and EV charging that suits Perth usage
With roughly 24 kWh of storage, evening and overnight loads are covered on most days of the year, while the 22 kW AC charger lets the homeowners turn daytime surplus into low-cost kilometres. The mySigen app provides live visibility, scheduling and export control so charging can preference solar first and top up from the battery when it makes sense.
Performance highlights
Annual production is modelled at 22,627 kWh from the 16.15 kW array, based on the site’s sun hours and roof geometry. Energy offset is 259 percent, indicating strong surplus generation available for battery charging, EV charging and FiT exports. This profile is well matched to a Perth household with growing electrification, including pool equipment and transport.

Replacing the old system, safely
We decommissioned the ageing single phase inverter and migrated the site to a compliant three phase design. All works were completed to AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZS 4777 with Western Power service and metering requirements observed.
Why this solution suits Manning homes
Manning’s mix of mature trees and varied rooflines rewards careful string design and smart load shifting. High-efficiency AIKO panels paired with modular Sigenergy batteries enable more self-use during peak Synergy tariff periods, while the EV charger soaks up midday surplus that would otherwise be exported with no reimbursement. The result is a cleaner, quieter home with far less grid dependence.
