A Practical Redesign on Installation Day
Once our experienced installation team was on the roof, they found the original portrait panel layout would not physically fit as first designed.
Rather than reducing the system size, the team adjusted the new array into landscape orientation. This allowed the full 21 x AIKO 490W panel addition to remain in the design, keeping the total system at 20.69kW while maintaining a clean and compliant roof layout.
This is why we use detailed 3D modelling, site checks and our expert in-house installers. We communicate and listen to installation feedback. Solar design is not just about fitting panels on a screen. It has to work on the actual roof, with real roof dimensions, ridges, access points, clamps, rails and site constraints.
Why Sigenergy Works for a Dalkeith Home
Large homes in suburbs like Dalkeith often have higher daytime and evening energy demand, especially when pool pumps, air conditioning, electric hot water, appliances and EV charging are part of the load profile.
This design gives the home:
- High daytime solar generation
- 40kWh of battery storage for evening and overnight use
- Whole-home backup through the Sigenergy Gateway
- Fast EV charging with a 25kW DC charger
- A 20kW three phase inverter platform for stronger household energy support
- Better self-consumption instead of relying heavily on grid imports
The Sigenergy battery uses LFP chemistry and is designed for high cycle life, while the SigenStor platform supports modular storage, intelligent energy management and integrated EV charging. The Sigenergy Gateway enables whole-home backup when installed with the correct battery and inverter hardware.
Sigenergy: Built for Solar, Storage, Backup and EV Charging
This was not just a solar panel upgrade. It was a full home energy system.
The new SigenStor three phase inverter and 40kWh battery provide a strong foundation for storing solar energy during the day and using it when the home needs it most. The 25kW DC EV charger allows the client to charge an electric vehicle faster than a standard AC charger, while still integrating with the broader Sigenergy ecosystem. It also has bi-directional V2X capabilities which futureproofs and allows vehicles to provide extra stored energy to the the home.
For this home, the goal was clear: keep the large solar capacity, add serious battery storage, include whole-home backup, and prepare the property for high-power EV charging.
Dalkeith Solar Installation by Australis Solar
Australis Solar designs and installs premium solar, battery, backup and EV charging systems across Perth. This Dalkeith project shows the value of using an experienced local team that can adapt on site, protect the full system outcome and complete the installation to a high standard.
For homeowners comparing solar batteries in Perth, this project is a strong example of how a large solar array, modular battery storage, whole-home backup and DC EV charging can work together as one integrated energy system.
Looking for a solar battery system in Dalkeith or Perth?
Speak with Australis Solar about a tailored solar, battery, backup and EV charging design for your home.
Australis Solar provides premium solar, battery, backup and EV charging solutions across Perth, Western Australia. This Dalkeith installation showcases our ability to deliver complex, high-performance residential energy systems, adding 10.29kW of new solar with 21 x AIKO 490W panels to an existing 10.4kW system, bringing the home to 53 panels, 20.69kW total solar capacity and an estimated 31,532kWh of annual production.
The system was paired with a 20kW SigenStor three phase inverter, 40kWh of Sigenergy battery storage, a Sigenergy Gateway for whole-home backup, and a 25kW DC EV charger with 10m cable. During installation, our in-house team identified that the original portrait layout would not physically fit on the roof, so the array was redesigned into landscape to retain the full system size without compromising the outcome.
This project reflects what Australis Solar does best: practical design, premium technology, careful site execution and future-ready energy solutions that help Perth homeowners reduce grid reliance, store more of their own solar power and prepare for electric vehicle charging.
